Planned Giving
Leave a legacy for generations of children! Learn about two ways to make a lasting impact:
Qualified Charitable Distributions
Wills & Trusts
Have peace of mind knowing that you can protect your loved ones while protecting the rights of children in need. Many Lawyers For Children supporters choose to leave a donation in their wills and trusts as a way to have a long-term impact without any upfront cost during their lifetimes.
Making a will is one of the most impactful and easiest ways to extend your love and generosity for many years to come.
- Use this free tool to create your legal will online, or document your wishes and find an attorney near you.
- Specify within your will the amount or percentage of your estate you’d like to leave to Lawyers For Children and other causes.
- Rest assured knowing you’ll be making a positive change for vulnerable children for generations to come.
Have an attorney?
If you’d prefer to go your attorney to draft or update your will, you can let him/her know of the following language:
“I bequeath (amount or percentage) to Lawyers For Children, a non-profit corporation existing under the laws of New York, with the principal business address of 110 Lafayette Street, 8th Floor, New York, NY. and federal tax identification number 13-3202043.”
Have questions?
If you have questions about planned giving options, email donate@lawyersforchildren.org or call 212-966-6420. If you have included LFC in your planned giving already, we’d love to know so we can recognize your contribution.
Qualified Charitable Distributions
If you are 70.5 or older, and you have a traditional IRA, there’s a smart way to give to Lawyers for Children. You can make a contribution, also known as a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), from your IRA that is 100% tax free, whether or not you itemize deductions on your tax return.
